.....what? Grammar mate, and the British Isles is a geographical term, not a political one
Posted 2 months ago
Sorry ne not nw
nw of Ireland is part of the British isles. The rest ain't.
Which is? (Not attempting to be sarcastic, just genuinely curious)
WHERE THE FUCK IS SHETLAND?
Go on youtube ans see if you can find the scene with the Irish. Pretty much sums up the two countries' relationship
One film i can say i've never seen XD, clearly i'm too cool ;)
Bunbury, the physical isle itself, not the sovereignty of the country which exists upon the isle.
Wow, thanks for all the likes lads! :)
did you actually google this before you posted?
Wikipedia: list of islands in the British Islands. The second one mentioned...
well, you're gonna fail geography then.
no because British isles refers to the geographical area. Mainland Britain and all the little islands. NOT THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND OR NORTHERN IRELAND.
Yours sincerely a person studying geography.
An Irish man would know the problem with this picture
Only Northern Ireland is part of the British Isles... jessh google it people!
The British Isles is a geopolitical term comprising of the UK, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Mann and the Channel Islands :)
Ohh I know that by the official definition of Guernsey is: 'Guernsey embraces not only all ten parishes on the Island of Guernsey, but also the islands of Alderney and Sark – each with their own parliament – and the smaller islands of Herm, Jethou and Lihou'
So I was using the wider definition of Guernsey :) Happy Days!
Oh gosh where's the debate here?...
British Isles - What's in the picture (geographical)
Britain - Scotland, England, Wales (geographical)
UK - England, Scotland, Wales AND Northern Ireland (yes there is a border folks, it is a completely different country) which is Political.
You're very welome :P
Thank you sir.
Karma awarded my good man!
That was one guy, on the other posts they were saying Britain, although I thank you for teaching people it is a part of The British Isles.
I direct you to my previous reply Below!
it has everything to do with geography, British Isles is a geographical term only and not a political 1, ie has nothing to do with sovereign states and their borders therefore this is a silly argument and we should al just let it be now
check back over the comments before you go around calling random people an idiot. Idiot.
And I like the Scottish. Ever seen braveheart? :P
It doesn't work like that, it's just an old name
An bhfúil tú ag magadh?? *hiccup* I'm gonna *burp* feckin...get...feckin...*hiccup* wha were ya on abou agin???
The very fact that it is called a "republic" means it is independent and not under British rule, hence not a British Isle. It has nothing to do with geography, it would be more to do with either politics or the use of the English language you ignoramus.
Oh sorry, you're 'high' on life... wake up to the real world. You couldn't even take a little joke about a classic stereotype around the world that Irish people drink all the time.
Thanks, that made my day lol :P
Aye they are. They gave us money. We should have used it better...
Couldn't have put it better myself mate
Really? Weird. Anyway, thanks for the info :)
You don't have to say "Ireland island", just say Ireland. Unless you say Republic of.... or Northern.... it refers to the island. And yes, it is, It's just an age old name
SHITE. I should've noticed that. Thanks for letting me know anyway
You do know that alcohol isn't the single thing in existence that can cause happiness?
You don't drink, explains why you're a miserable little dickhead.
Haha I appreciate it
I don't drink. Go home sterotypist, you're a cunt
Actually, I was a Catholic for 15 years. But then twats like you made me decide, y'know what, I can't side with these guys anymore
Why thank you :P
Learn your geography mate
republic of ireland not a british isle!
well all of the channel islands theres more than 2. but good karma for recognising.
I proposed we start on Continental Europe. People need a lot of educatin'.
Ah lads at the end of the day, the English are alright.
Haha and thats why i like the irish.
Scottish chick XD.
+1 to the fellow Irishman. Well done.
People were saying it wasn't in Britain you idiot
why is everyone arguing about this, ireland is in the british isles! its a fact, the people who say it isint are wrong!everyone posting up the RA here wasnt even born when the ra was anything but a pack of scumbag's, if you want a political debate go somewhere that gives a fuck...its a geograhical term not a political 1...
sincerely: a proud Kerryman.
The British Isles is the correct geographical term, but the new term "British & Irish Isles" is being used in certain parts.
Ireland > Everything else
Oh, a comment had been made about it. I can go now.
Love it, not even on the other side of the pond will agree to its own countries/borders. We Americans can feel less dumb now, thanks.
Tiocfaidh ar la
You're a joke, I don't like nor use the term "British Isles" and do a decent job arguing my point. You do a good job at degrading Ireland.
Sincerely your a prod. Up the RA(IRA). R.I.P Alan Ryan
Yes it is.
Sincerely, a Brit.
ireland island is not in the British isles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNu8XDBSn10 -- Can we all stfu now?
I'm pretty sure a 'real Irishman' would not only know that we ARE part of the British Isles....
The term faggot had a different meaning once
Thank you. I cracked up most at the drunk leprechaun part.
Well clearly the point of this post completely went over your head.
Bout damn time someone had some sense.
just because it's a different country doesn't mean it's not part of a group of islands anymore
Oh my god, moron. ROI is part of the British Isles. The British Isles is simply a geographical term for ROI, Northern Island, England, Wales and Scotland (and those other funny islands things).
Get your facts right you stupid drunk leprechaun.
The map shows the Republic of Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is not and never will be a part of the British Isles it is a sovereign nation. From a real Irishman...Not a Pretender. Feel free to apply burn cream.
The only border is the sea. Done.
Good on ye boii
Thank frig for people like the op!
Yup, definitely an Irishman.
Just to be a dickhead, you forgot the Isles of Scilly, Guernsey and Jersey, which are also apart of the British Isles :)
But I'm finally glad this debate is over!
Thank fuck for this guy
Go rabh maith agat.
Thank you so so much.
Go home Irishman... You're drunk... All the time...
To the poster
Thank you savior
