well, you're gonna fail geography then.
Posted 2 months ago

no because British isles refers to the geographical area. Mainland Britain and all the little islands. NOT THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND OR NORTHERN IRELAND. Yours sincerely a person studying geography.

Ohh I know that by the official definition of Guernsey is: 'Guernsey embraces not only all ten parishes on the Island of Guernsey, but also the islands of Alderney and Sark – each with their own parliament – and the smaller islands of Herm, Jethou and Lihou' So I was using the wider definition of Guernsey :) Happy Days!

Oh gosh where's the debate here?... British Isles - What's in the picture (geographical) Britain - Scotland, England, Wales (geographical) UK - England, Scotland, Wales AND Northern Ireland (yes there is a border folks, it is a completely different country) which is Political.

it has everything to do with geography, British Isles is a geographical term only and not a political 1, ie has nothing to do with sovereign states and their borders therefore this is a silly argument and we should al just let it be now

The very fact that it is called a "republic" means it is independent and not under British rule, hence not a British Isle. It has nothing to do with geography, it would be more to do with either politics or the use of the English language you ignoramus.

Oh my god, moron. ROI is part of the British Isles. The British Isles is simply a geographical term for ROI, Northern Island, England, Wales and Scotland (and those other funny islands things). Get your facts right you stupid drunk leprechaun.
