Holy shit, Graeme Base you are one crafty mother fucker.
E is for EXTERMINATE!
Honestly thought that was gonna be a dick...
why does this shit surprise you people?!!??!?!?!
Does anyone else see the dude that's drowning?
I loved that book!! I must find it again to see the Dalek!
lions and tigers and bears oh my!!! absolute genius!!!!
i want to buy this book
I remember this book! Kelly Kangaroo and Kid Kookaburra.... something something.
Am I the only one who sees the drowning boy behind the dalek?
Well, I will be checking my book when I get home.
I'm going over to my grandmothers to get this book from her now
I think I had this book.
I had this book too!!
am I the only one who see's the donkey punch?
I had this book! I loved this book!
that dalek has it's sucker arm and gun the wrong way round (my ocd was killing me, i simply had to point that out)
I don't even watch doctor who (I know, I will start eventually) And even I think this is amazing.
He says he nearly choked on the D?
87 comments and you were the only other person who realised this...
not gonna lie, i was really expecting to find a dick.
OMG I LOVE ANIMALIA
Well ok, it isn't an American book guys but it was just really popular in America during the 1990s. And I guarantee hardly any of us knew what a daralek was back then. It was just fun to find it within the pages of childhood. No one get upset this is happy!
i'm sorry that you didn't watch doctor who as a kid. it's much better when you're too young to tell that the aliens are made of cardboard.
*Dalek* excuse me. See? Silly us.
really an amazing book... have an upvote
D is for "EXTERMINATE"
Okay...its' a Dalek...and what? Really not seeing what's so amazing about that.
it's just a reference. everyone loves a good reference. and trust me, if you knew how awesome that book is, it's even better!
I'm confused, is it the dalek or the guy drowning in the pond!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
i thought it was the guy drowning in the pond
what, did you think daleks have only been around since 2005? daleks hark back to the 60s you know
I think the significance is they used it in the book when most of the time those books don't include things from movies, shows, etc.
What other secrets might this document contain!?
so so so so many things, it's incredible... a double page for each letter of the alphabet, filled with incredibly detailed pictures of all kinds of things.... you can spend hours looking at that book and still find new things on each page. fantastic book
It is the most amazing fantabulous book. I re-read mine over Christmas, and I saw so many things that I'd missed before!
i had that book!! i always remember hating the author's weird name
i had this book! My father explained the daleks to me. i was also afraid of the vultures on the v page. thats my life, k bye.
There is also a hand in background.. some body is Drowning..or some body is going to Die..
that hand belonged to a recurring character that could be found on every page.
your book, it wants the D...
Graema was born in England but has lived in Australia sine he was 8. This is not an American book
holy shit... thats amazing.
This whole time I was looking for a dick...
Also a poor guy drowning!
E. IS. FOR. EX-TERRRMINATE!
D is for "DUUUUUUUUDE! DALEKS!"
I HAD THIS. SO AWESOME.
OMG I HAVE THIS BOOK
I have this book! I actually went to find it in my childhood possessions and looked for that page! I am in awe.
OMFG THAT IS AWESOME!!! Daleks appear even in children's books <3
How could anyone dislike this!!!! :O
I loved this book as a kid!
Did nobody else think that what was behind the daleks was "d for dumbass" ??
There is a man drowning in that pool. D is for drowning.
Dam donkey doctor..
He has another book called the eleventh hour. It is the best. I think there is a Who reference in it as well.
^my first mindfuck
never seen dr who though
I had that book! One of my favorites as a kid. I never knew why there was a "robot" under "d"!!
That is a Dalek, you ignorant twat.
Somebody's a happy little bunny, aren't they?
Knew, sir, knew.
Omg this was not shopped, i had to look on amazon to confirm
why would it be shopped?
I am not a Dr.who fan can someone explain to me what this is?
Very basically, Daleks (the robot in the photo) are the archenemies of the Doctor.
Am I the only non Dr. Who fanatic who thought that maybe, just maybe, the man was punching the donkey in the nose? D for Donkeypunch.
The man also happens to be Tom Baker, the fourth Doctor :D
OMG that is so freaken awesome!
Omgosh i remember that book...my little brother wrote all over with with markers... :(
OMG I HAVE THIS BOOK AND JUST NOTICED THE SAME THING THE OTHER DAY.
wait wait wait, i see the dalek and thats very exciting, but you guys DO see the drowning guy with his hand raised out of the water in the top right of that window pane right?
D is for Dalek and Doctor :D
I ALSO TOTALLY HAD THIS BOOK! The pictures in this book are freaking amazing.
I thought it was "D" for "dildo."
I just realized never to mess with a Dr. Who post for fear of being downvoted like the plague. In fact, the plague probably gets fewer "down votes" than someone who jokes about "Dr. Who."
Am I the only one who thought it was going to be something completely different?
Yea, nobody judge me, but I was scouring the page for a dick.
Omg, I have to go check my copy now!!!
Is it for real?!
It's real O.o I am shocked and amazed.
Its not just a dalek, it's also got Dr Who stood next to it when Tom Baker played the role.
OMG You're right! So this is what it feels like to be a 12-year-old girl at a One Direction concert... *squeeee*
holy crap!I've seen that book and must investigate!
Dr. Who's been around since the 60's, got to say, I'm not really surprised.
Yeeeeep. I thought the same thing, when someone posted the Rugrats one. Like, Dr. Who is not just for this decade. Just because it's popular now doesn't mean it "time-traveled" back to your childhood...
You guys realize its not about it being "out of its time" or anything right. The posts are about them being referenced in something that is unrelated. We know its not a new show so stop trying to be smart asses.
says the guy trying to be a smartass.
I just thought it was awesome because I found out about Dr. Who a few years ago and then I find this is my childhood memory :)
HOLY CRAP I think that's awesome and I don't even watch Doctor Who :) (I've heard of daleks though)
Graeme Base is British-Australian
Oh... I did not know that. That would explain it.
Lol what, you live in the US and owned the book, therefore it is American? Some of you motherfuckers are so damned weird.
His or her copy of the book may have said it was printed in America. Still, a quick Google search of the author would have revealed where he was from right away.
It's symptomatic of delusional nationalism. Don't defend that thing.
It was just very popular in America. And I bet none of us knew what it was back then. No need for the hate bro :(
Lol, it's not hate. As much as I hate anti-American (or any other nationality) rhetoric, I find it a surprisingly common belief amongst US citizens that they're located at the centre of the universe. Anyway, my second comment was entirely tongue-in-cheek exaggeration. We totally kewl, as far as I'm concerned.
Took the words right out of my mouth.
WHAT IS IT??????
Dalek from the show doctor who. I thought it was going to be a shitty show, then I actually watched it and it is fucking awesome.
D is for Drowning.
